What are the membership eligibility requirements?
Our membership is be open to any person eighteen years or older who subscribes to the mission and purposes of WESTCAM as stated in the Articles of Organization and these bylaws.
Each new applicant must be introduced at the General Assembly (GA) monthly meeting by an existing member and his/her application must be approved by the majority of members present at that meeting.
What types of membership do you offer?
We offer two categories of membership:
Regular and Honorary.
What are the main requirements for a regular member?
A regular member is any individual who meets the eligibility requirements for membership and pays the applicable membership registration fee within 30 days of his/her application’s approval.
Regular memberships must be resident of New England (USA), be interested in, and supports, the Bamiléké culture, paid their membership fees, subscribes to the association mission and purposes of as stated in the Articles of Organization and bylaws.
How to pay membership fees?
Membership fees can be paid in person (cash, check), bank deposit, or online. For check or bank deposit, contact us for our bank account credentials.
What are the main requirements for an honorary member?
Honorary membership is open exclusively upon invitation of the WESTCAM Executive Bureau (EB), acting upon recommendation of at least 5 members and approval of the General Assembly (GA), to persons who have outstandingly demonstrated that they are capable of, and willing to provide intellectual, civic, financial and/or material support, inspiration, guidance, counsel, and/or patronage to the Association.
Approval of honorary members is by a simple majority of votes of the members present at the GA monthly meeting when the vote takes place.
What are the membership fees?
- New membership fee: $260 (first 12 months)
- Active membership fee: $145/year (after the first 12 months)
What are your election requirements?
Only members who have been registered for at least one (1) year prior to the date of
election, and are US citizens or legal residents, and are in good general standing for at
least four weeks prior to the date of election, are eligible to run for election for an office
of Director, Executive Bureau.
